Welcome to Bracknell Forest Homes, the new not-for-profit housing association set up to own and manage the 5,600 properties.
The transfer of housing from the Council to Bracknell Forest Homes took place on Monday 11 February. The transfer means tenants will benefit from £61 million major improvements to their homes and the housing service.
Bracknell Forest Homes looks after all tenancy issues, rent payments and repairs to homes. The Council retains the strategic housing function, which includes the housing waiting list and allocations. For more information visit Bracknell Forest Borough Council's website.

As a result of the transfer, the Council is committing 75 per cent of the available capital receipt to fund new affordable homes in the area.
Full details of the promises can be found in the Offer Document, which was sent to all tenants in February 2007.
Bracknell Forest Homes is a new housing association, set up to own and manage 5,600 homes in Bracknell as a result of detailed consultation with all tenants and leaseholders. Following the consultation a ballot of all tenants was held in April 2007 and over 70 per cent of tenants voted. Over 75 per cent of tenants who voted were in favour of the transfer.
At the same time a consultative ballot of leaseholders was held, in which 37 per cent of leaseholders voted. Over 66 per cent of the leaseholders who voted supported the move to Bracknell Forest Homes.
Like all registered housing associations, Bracknell Forest Homes is regulated by the Tenant Services Authority (TSA), which is a government body. The Tenant Services Authority ensures that Bracknell Forest Homes delivers all the promises it has made.
Bracknell Forest Homes is a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status. This means that it can invest more money in the housing service and improvements to all homes.
Bracknell Forest Homes has a management Board of 12 unpaid volunteers. The Board is made up of four residents, four Council nominees and four independent people. For more information about the Board click here.
