Our responsibility

We have a legal responsibility to our tenants to do the following:

  • Ensure that the supplies of gas, water and electricity are in good working order
  • Keep the interior of the building (ceilings, doors, floors and so on) in good repair
  • Maintain kitchen and bathroom equipment

In return, tenants must:

  • Report a repair to us as soon as possible.
  • Treat homes and communal areas with care. Tenants may be charged for repairs to damage that does not count as fair wear and tear (see Housing Repairs - Rechargeable Repairs for more information)

Note that there are some smaller repair jobs that we will only agree to do if you are elderly or disabled. Please see Repairs You Must Do Yourself for more information.

Reporting a repair

To report a repair, please use our Housing Repairs Service system. This will present you with easy to follow pictures and diagrams and will help you to identify what the problem is, give you advice and then ask you to send us a form online with your details.
