Welcome to Bracknell Forest Homes, the not-for-profit housing association set up to own and manage the 5,600 rented and 1,100 leasehold properties, which transferred from Bracknell Forest Council in February 2008.

Bracknell Forest Homes looks after all tenancy issues, rent payments, repairs to homes and landscaping. Bracknell Forest Homes is also carrying out a major improvement programme, including fitting new kitchens, bathrooms and heating replacements in homes that need them. Bracknell Forest Council retains the strategic housing function, which includes the housing waiting list and allocations.

Residents warned about doorstep scam

Awareness is being raised about possible doorstep scams that national energy companies have become aware of. The scam, which seems to offer cheaper electricity meter top-ups, can end up with consumers paying twice. Energy companies together with Consumer Focus are launching a national campaign called  Top up Safe and urging electricity pre-payment meter customers to buy top-up only through official channels.

Positive TSA Review Result

Positive TSA Review Result

Regulators from the Tenant Services Authority (TSA) carried out their first year review visit in July 2009.

The regulators were impressed with the progress the organisation has made since transfer. They complimented the Board, staff and customers on the contributions made to the progress of the association. The regulator said: “Overall we found that Bracknell Forest Homes is providing high quality services, is well managed both organisationally and financially, and demonstrates very promising prospects for improvement.”
