Equality and diversity

Bracknell Forest Homes embraces diversity in our community and recognises that we work with people who have differing needs. We aim to treat all of our customers with respect, regardless of factors such as race, ethnicity, cultural background, nationality, disability, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, age or health status.

We offer:

  • information about our services and service standards in other languages, in large print, in Braille or on audiotape.
  • language interpreters (including sign language) to help at meetings or interviews.
  • hearing loops wherever possible at meetings and in our reception area.
  • meeting venues that are accessible to everyone.

Our aim is to turn our commitment to equality and diversity into excellent services for our customers. Please let us know if you think that any of our policies or services are unfair by emailing here.

All staff and Board members are aware of how to communicate with people with disabilities and have positive attitudes towards disability.

We aim to provide information in a way that suits your needs. We can translate documents into many different languages or we can produce documents in Braille, large print, audio or CD formats on request. Please click here for information about Language Line. Some Bracknell Forest Homes' employees can communicate in a variety of formats and languages including French, German, Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi, Swahili, Urdu, Greek, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Polish and Bristish Sign Language.

Two ticks accreditation

Two ticks accreditation logoThe Two Ticks symbol is a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to organisations which are positive about employing people with disabilities, are keen to know about job applicants' abilities, and keep and develop the abilities of disabled employees. We are an accredited user of the Positive About Disabled People symbol.

Employing disabled people is a key factor in improving efficiency, productivity and overall business success. By using the symbol we make it clear to disabled people we welcome applications and are positive about their abilities. The symbol also shows our employees that we value their contribution and will treat them fairly should they become disabled.

Please click here for more information about the Two Ticks accreditation.
