About Bracknell Forest Homes
Bracknell Forest Homes is an housing association which owns and manages around 5,600 rented homes, including 400 sheltered housing flats, as well as 1,100 leaseholder properties. It was set up in February 2008 following the successful ballot of tenants and leaseholders to transfer homes from Bracknell Forest Council.
We have more than 200 employees providing services which include housing management, supported housing, technical services, landscaping, development and central services. Our Board of Management is made up of 12 people, including four tenant board members, four council nominees and four independent people.
Bracknell is a new town with both urban and rural housing estates. The majority of homes we manage were built between the 1950s and 1960s.
The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) has carried out its first year review and concluded: "Overall we found that Bracknell Forest Homes is providing high quality services, is well managed both organisationally and financially, and demonstrates very promising prospects for improvement."
The Bracknell Forest Homes Board
The Board was set up in 2006 as a shadow board which made important decisions about the planned improvements and how the new association would manage the housing, before tenants were asked to vote on the transfer proposal. If the tenants had voted 'no' to the transfer then the shadow board would have disbanded.
The Board consists of:
